  • Some favorite cookbooks lately, random bits and bats, and gratuitous rambling about B3 (evidently I can’t help myself) are #ontheblog this morning.  This liquid gold (aka the chicken noodle soup that got us through the merry-go-round of sniffles and runny noses earlier this winter!) is among them, from @debperelman’s newest gem, plus new beauties from @howsweeteats, @mollyyeh, @thefauxmartha, and @fortheloveofthesouth. My bookshelf has never ever felt cozier. And so many more releases coming later this year (and more I’m missing in this list!!)   • Thanks to @evakosmasflores and her second (!) stunning book #firstweeat, I now know you can make a great thing like bread pudding even greater—by baking it in a pretty Bundt pan and drenching it in cajeta. Just genius.  The recipe for this is in Eva’s new book First We Eat, and she’s giving away a copy on her Instagram, along with a KitchenAid stand mixer! Huge congrats on another beautiful book, Eva!

  • This is a pho noodle salad from #neighborhoodcookbook by the loveliest @arthurstreetkitchen and it’s as magical as it sounds—all the savory, sweet, and hearty flavors of a big bowl of pho distilled into a punchy, flavorful dressing for rice noodles, tofu, and charred broccolini.   • These are a craggy, sprouted wheat and rosemary take on @taraobrady’s chocolate chip cookies, aka our go-to 🍪—thick and hefty, crisp-edged but velvety inside, butterscotchy with striated ripples of chocolate inside and puddles on top. The regular recipe is #ontheblog along with some variations and an abundance of holiday cookie recipes (+ also some Christmas PJ shenanigans). Link in profile! What cookies are you baking??   • I am as shocked as anyone that I, of all people, am obsessing over vegetables in the middle of high cookie season, but that was before I met these greens at Thanksgiving—sautéed in the crazy flavorful fat from sweet-savory lap cheong sausage and thin slices of garlic, and finished off with a dollop of teriyaki sauce to make it all even more savory, it’s so good it’s like the holiday cookies of savory dishes, or something. (I’ll return to my normal gingerbread-eating self soon.) Thanks to my lil bro @j.chenchilla for the recipe!! Recipe link in profile 🍃
